  • The BTB575FM 5-string bass guitar has the kind of curves that would make Boticelli proud. An apple bottom with a long, thin upper horn and deep cutaways on both sides of the fret, it's an electric bass that will stand out in any situation on visuals alone. Where the fretboard and body meet, the BTB575FM's finish is angled downward crossways adding to its allure. The 5-piece maple/bubinga thru-neck and figured maple top complete with the optical stimulus. Soundwise, the mahogany body gives off plenty of smooth tones given some oomph by the dual MK2-5 pickups.

Fender «Beck» Telecaster plus VOX Big Ben thru a VOX AC30 30th Anniversary

Tuesday, August 4th, 2009

Here’s some noodling with a Fender MIJ «Beck» Telecaster and a VOX Big Ben overdrive. The Big Ben is a PERFECT overdrive for Telecasters and sounds awesome through vintage Fender amps. In this tune I play through a VOX AC30 from the limited 30th anniversary edition (1990/1991). It’s one of the rare ones with the tan covering. BTW: I replaced the wimpy MIJ pots and switch of the Tele with US parts. I truly love this guitar which rivals many of my fine US made guitars.
