The Gibson Faded SG Special is an electric guitar that maintains the tradition of looks, functionality, and value for which the SG guitar is known. Under its attractive faded finish, the Faded Special SG is still the traditional SG, with mahogany body and neck, Tune-O-Matic/stopbar bridge, and alnico 490 pickups. The guitar's faded finish gives it the look of an electric that started its rockin' days in the '60s. A Little SG History In 1961, the Les Paul was redesigned with a thinner body and 2 sharp cutaway horns that making the upper frets more accessible while lowering production costs. The new guitar was popular, but Les Paul the guitarist did not like it and asked to have his name removed. Gibson renamed the model the "SG" which was short for "solid guitar". Though Les Paul's name was officially removed from the model in 1961, the plastic Les Paul nameplates (positioned between the rhythm pickup and fingerboard) were in abundance in the Gibson factory and SG models having these nameplates were built and sold by Gibson up to end of 1963. SGs have been the choice of world-class artists such as Pete Townsend, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, and Angus Young.

The dual humbucker Music Man Sterling is a 5-String Bass similar in shape to the Music Man StingRay, but shorter and narrower. The Sterling also features hot-rodded electronics: active 3-band preamp, 2 Music Man humbucker pickups with hum canceling phantom coil, and unique 3-way switching (both coils in series mode, single coil, and both coils in parallel mode). The B.C. Rich Mockingbird ST features maple neck through construction, a nato mahogany body with a AAA quilted maple veneer, and a Floyd Rose Original tremolo. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high-end guitars. This construction starts with a long piece (or pieces) of premium North American maple. That piece runs from the tip of the headstock to the strap button on the opposite end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear. The neck-through construction also allows deeper cutaways, providing comfort no bolt-on or set-neck could offer.Rockfield Pickups - Mafia Bridge Pickups The use of a ceramic magnet gives any pickup extra power due to the increased magnetic field they provide. This feature makes the Mafia pickups produce a hotter and thicker tone that's really aggressive and full. The increased low end, thick mids and in your face highs is what rock and roll was built on! Balanced and full of sustain this pickup is a great representation of its namesake, a truly intimidating killer.Neck Pickups The neck version of the Mafia pickup is just as full sounding as the bridge position, without taking away from what has already been accomplished. Very minor modifications to the overall design and design concept of this pickup gives it punchy, bold tone with the same aggressive characteristics as the bridge version. A tad brighter with a little less output really takes this pickup into the smooth and warm realm of the tonal spectrum. In many ways, bevels on a top are similar to facets on a cut stone. They catch the light and reflect at different angles giving the instrument more of a three dimensional look.
